| Christmas on the beach: we'd do it again |

| We did a week stay at 15C of 1 1/2 Sian Hollywood Beach over Christmas (the 24th to the 30th), and it was a fantastic vacation. Sitting out on the deck in the morning and enjoying the breeze and seeing the ocean view to one side and the canals on the other is a great way to wake up. Walking out of the building and basically right on to the beach made for great afternoons. The beach is pleasant, and there's a sand bar not too far from shore so wading out in to the water is nice. You can rent beach furniture easily enough.
The building itself is beautiful - we didn't use the exercise room or the pool but they were large and looked nice.
Inside the condo was exceptional - 15C is in great shape. We might have been the first people to stay there with the new owner, so most everything was new. Virtually everything we needed was there - with the exception of an ice cream scoop and pizza cutter, everything we needed to eat and cook with was there (though, as always, take a look at what's there before deciding what you're going to cook)
There was plenty of room inside the condo, the two of us never felt cramped. It was very clean, and good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Super Walmart is a 5 minute walk away, so anything you need is readily at hand. There's another grocery store just a few more blocks up the road.
Because we were there at Christmas, it's hard to say exactly how busy it might be in a busier time, but the valet lot was never full, and in fact we were always just waved up to the ramp and parked ourselves, we were the only ones who ever drove our car.
We did a day trip to Key Largo and drove up to Ft Laderdale for some good dining, which was easy enough. We did about two hours at Topeekeegee Yugnee, which was plenty for us.
Because we were first in the new place, Internet hadn't been installed. It was OK to have a break, and should be fixed by now. There weren't very many cable channels, which was OK by us - that might have changed at the same time as the Internet, but if having a full lineup is important to your vacation, ask.
The bed isn't the most comfortable. I sleep fine most anywhere, but if anything other than a top-of-the-line mattress is a dealbreaker for you, ask about it too.
The staff at the building were all very friendly, especially the valets. The owner and the local agent were all very responsive.
This was a great stay, we'd enthusiastically recommend it, and plan to stay there again someday.

| The condo was spectacular. The bedrooms were perfect with one having a ocean view.The living area was comfortable the kitchen was perfect. The dishwasher didn't work but the sink was just fine. Laundry was easy enough, walk down the hall and get a money card and wash away. Beach access is going downstairs and walking 2 minutes. Perfect. We did clean the condo before we left as we think it appropriate and washed all the sheets. The only neg I can say is we could of used cable with movie channels.The stores are close, great shopping, gambling all the we didn't go,the broadwalk was fun. Dont pass this one up. |
